How Much Prize Money will Indian Olympics Medal Winners Earn?

Many states of India including West Bengal, Delhi, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and the Central government have announced prize money for Indian Olympics medal winners. Haryana announces giving cash awards of Rs 6 crore to gold winners and Rs 2.5 crore to bronze winners.

How Much Prize Money will Indian Olympics Medal Winners Earn?

The participants that bags medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020, West Bengal will award prize money Rs 25 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. Karnataka and Gujarat will reward cash prizes of Rs 5 crore to all the gold winners in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

While UP, Odisha and Chandigarh offer Rs 6 crore for the gold medal. Maharashtra has announced to offer Rs 1 crore to Indian Olympics gold medal winners while Rs 75 lakh for the silver medal and Rs 50 lakh for the bronze medal.

Tokyo Olympics is a few days away on 23rd July with 115 Indians qualified for different games. The Delhi Deputy Chief Finance Minister Manish Sisodia held a meeting on Friday with Karnam Malleshwari, Vice President of Delhi Sports University, to explore ways to strengthen assistance for these sportsmen in New Delhi.

The Delhi government also offer a financial reward of 1 crore to 3 crores to athletes from the Capital of Tokyo Olympics 2020 if they receive a medal.

Prize Money Announced For India Medal Winners At The Tokyo Olympics By The Delhi Government

All the athletes of Delhi who have won the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020, will review a reward of Rs. 3 crores. Those who get a Silver Medal will be rewarded Rs. 2 crores. And Rs.1 crore to those who receive an Olympic bronze medal.

Deepak Kumar, Manika Batra, Amoj Jacob, and Sarthak Bhambri are among the athletes from Delhi, representation in 10m Air Rifle Shooting event, Table Tennis, 4x400m relay, and 4x400m relay race respectively.

All coaches of these athletes who earn medals will also receive a sum of Rs. 10 lakhs.
