The 40th edition of the AFC Champions League, Asia’s premier club football tournament begins on 14 April 2024. The winners of the tournament will automatically qualify for the 2024 AFC Champions League, entering the qualifying play-offs, if they have not qualified through their domestic performance. The winners of the 2024 AFC Champions League will also qualify for the 2024 FIFA Club World Cup in Japan, and if they are from Japan, the runners-up will also qualify.
South Korean club Ulsan Hyundai are the defending champions, having won 2024 final. This is the first time that FC Goa will be representing India in the competition.
The 40 teams will be divided into ten groups with the winners of each group advancing to the knockout stage. The six best second-placed teams three from the East Region and three from the West will also qualify and progress to the knockout stage.
The West Region fixtures will be held between April 14-30, while the corresponding East ones will take place between June and July 20. The 40 teams will be divided into ten groups of four teams per group. Five of these ten groups feature teams from East Asia, while the other five are made up of West Asian Teams.
Each time of a group will play the other teams in the group twice. Teams from East Asia and West Asia are seeded separate entirely until the final match of the tournament. winners of the group stages are drawn against the runner ups, and at each stage of the knockouts, teams play twice, home and away. The final is contested between winners of West Asia group v/s Winners of East Asia Group.

Schedule for AFC Champions League 2024
The AFC Champions League group stage begins on Wednesday, April 14 for West Asia and From June 21 for East Asia.
The Round of 16 Matches would be held from 13-15 September 2024.
Quarter Finals will be held between 27-29 September 2024.
Semi Finals would be held from 19–20 October 2024 for the 1st leg ; 26–27 October 2024 for the 2nd leg
Finals of AFC Champions League 2024 will be held on 21 November 2024 for the 1st Leg ; 27 November 2024 for the 2nd leg.

The venues for all the matches of AFC Champions League 2024 are limited because of the Covid-19 Situation. Following are the venues for the competition

- Group B: Sharjah, United Arab Emirates
- Group C: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
- Group E: Margao, India
- Groups F, G and J: Thailand
