ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Time Table: India to Start Against South Africa

The International Cricket Council has released the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Time Table following the completion of the qualifying championship. The ICC T20 World Cup qualifying championship has been won by the Netherlands who beat Papua New Guinea in the final. The Dutch and PNG have qualified along with Oman, Scotland, Namibia and Ireland for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. They will be joined in the first round by Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

The eight teams on the ICC T20 rankings (Pakistan, India, England, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies and Afghanistan) have got a direct entry in the Super 12 stage. The next two in the top ten list – Bangladesh and Sri Lanka – will have to play in the First Round along with six qualifiers. Four teams each are divided into two groups.

T20 World Cup 2019 Groups

Group A – Sri Lanka, Oman, Papua New Guinea and Ireland.

Group B – Bangladesh, Namibia, Scotland and Netherlands.

Two teams each from both groups will qualify for the Super 12 stage.

Group of Super 12 are as follows:

Group 1: Australia, Pakistan, West Indies, New Zealand along with Group A winners and Group B second team.

Group 2: India, England, South Africa, Afghanistan, Group B winners and Group A second team.

October 19: Bangladesh v Namibia (Bellerive Oval, Hobart, 8:30 am IST); Netherlands vs Scotland (Belleriv Oval, Hobart, 1:30 pm IST).

October 20: Ireland vs Oman (Symond Stadium, Geelong, 8:30 am IST); Sri Lanka vs Papua New Guinea (Symond Stadium, Geelong, 1:30 pm ISt).

October 21: Namibia vs Scotland (Bellerive Oval, Hobart, 8:30 am IST); Bangladesh vs Netherlands (Bellerive Oval, Hobart, 1:30 pm IST).

October 22: Papua New Guinea vs Ireland (Symond Stadium, Geelong, 8:30 am IST); Sri Lanka vs Oman (Symond Stadium, Geelong, 1:30 pm IST).

October 23: Netherlands vs Namibia (Bellerive Oval, Hobart, 8:30 am IST); Bangladesh vs Scotland (Bellerive Oval, Hobart, 1:30 pm IST).

India to open its campaign against South Africa: The Men in Blue will open the ICC T20 World Cup campaign next year against South Africa on the opening day of the Super 12 fixtures. India has been pitted in the strong Group 2 along with England, South Africa and Afghanistan as per the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Time Table. Group B winners and Group A second teams from the first round will also join the Super 12 Group 2.
