With the ongoing 2020/21 season of the NBA reaching its finals, the 2021-22 NBA schedule has been announced. According to various reports, Shams Charania, NBA insider of The Athletic has disclosed the details of the new 2021/22 NBA season.
After the late 2020/21 season which began in December and was reduced to 72 games per team because of the pandemic, NBA will return to its regular calendar from the 2021/22 season.
NBA Schedule 2021-22: Key Dates
NBA returns back to its standardized October-June calendar schedule. The 2021-22 season will be the 76th season of the NBA. Here are the new dates for the NBA schedule 2021-22:
- 29 July 2021- NBA Draft 2021
- 28 September 2021- Training Camp starts
- 19 October 2021- Regular season starts
- 16 April 2022- Playoffs
- 2 June 2022- Finals Game 1
- 19 June 2022- Finals game 7
- 23 June 2022- NBA Draft 2022
The regular season of NBA 2021-2022 will begin in October 2021 and conclude in April 2022. The NBA All-Star game will be played at the Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, Ohio on February 22, 2022. The 2021-22 season will return to normalcy and have 82 games.
The announcement of the upcoming NBA 2021-22 dates means that the players will most likely miss the opportunity to represent their national teams at the Tokyo Olympics.
Anthony Davis and LeBron James will not be available for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics 2021 due to injury while there is suspense on the playing of Stephen Curry who suffered the hairline fracture in March.
